Since obtaining her MFA in Poetry from Columbia College Chicago in 2012, she has worked with middle school, high school, college, and graduate student writers, helping them find their voice. She is the author or co-author of two chapbooks and one full-length collection of poetry. She has spent the last decade creating English and Literature curricula for grades 6 - 12 at the University School of the Lowcountry. In 2021, she was named the SCISA High School Teacher of the Year. Outside of school, she has worked with hundreds of students individually and through Write of Summer, a creative writing day camp. She is currently working on a novel.
